Welcome to our clan server. We hope you find playing in our server to be an enjoyable and pleasant HL experience. We do not have many rules, other then those that are dictated by common sense, but we would ask that you read the following and become familiar with our recommended guidelines. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Please keep your language PG rated.
For the most part we are all adults however, children of all ages play and are welcome. Due to the fact that we can never be sure what age group is in the server at any given time, we ask that you refrain from abusive language or racism. We are sure that you would not like some adult using abusive language to your child, so please don't do it (however unintended) to your fragging buddies child.
Facing the wall to talk.
Whenever possible, please do not shoot players facing the wall (a.k.a. "Type Kill"). We realize this is an action game and you don't always realize when a player is "Typing" or "AFK" (away from keyboard) but please make every effort to avoid shooting players facing the wall. If you do inadvertently cause a Type Kill, most often a simple "Sorry" will suffice; however, repeat offenders will be asked to leave the server.
Spawn mining.
Spawn mining, by its very nature, is lame to the extreme. There is no skill involved in setting a trap designed to kill a player as they spawn. Spawn miners will be asked to leave the server.
Team play in a DM server.
There is a fine line between inadvertent teaming and conspiring to team with someone else in order to overcome a player with superior skills. We have all jumped into the middle of a fight and gone on to kill a player who was already under attach by another player. In the strictest sense of the word, this could be called teaming, although in most cases it was not planned. In many cases, it is very difficult to determine intent, although the result is the same, one player gets the kill and another gets the death. In order to avoid even the appearances of teaming, please kill everybody (LOL). Non-clan members are not likely to return to a clan server where they are constantly teamed.
Weapons.
There are no banned weapons in our servers; if you find a weapon, you are free to use it. However, use good judgment. For example, Camping can be fun, especially if you are in the practice of doing it to other clan members who have done it to you. On the other hand, hiding in the dark and picking off player after player can be real annoying to the peeps getting killed over and over again. A good rule of thumb is to not do things to others you wouldn't like done to you.
Cheats.
Our servers run cheat detection software. Cheats will be automatically detected, booted and banned.
Don't cry and complain.
As hard as it may be to believe, there are better players than you out there and "no" there're not beating you because they're cheating or somehow have an unfair advantage. Instead of complaining, try to learn from them. If you get too frustrated and feel compelled to blurt out something almost certain to make you look like a moron, leave the server and come back when you calm down. You'll be glad you did.
Getting Booted.
Occasionally, when someone's good senses vacate their bodies and leave in their place a jabbering, cursing, abusive, "Cyber Nut", you may find yourself booted. Now, it takes a lot to get booted from this server because, generally, we bend over backwards to accommodate our guests, but if you do go over the edge and manage to get your self booted, please wait a day or so and then come on back. If you have any redeeming qualities at all, you will be welcomed.
Leave your problems out of the server.
Keep in mind Half Life is a game. We play this game to have fun. From time to time it is possible to get so caught up in the action that we forget that simple fact. Please don't argue with other players, no matter how right you think you are and how wrong you think they are. How likely do you think it is that if a dispute develops you will convince the other guy that he or she is a total moron and you are the center of all knowledge and truth? Zero! Let it go. If you feel you must continue the dispute, take it to ICQ or some other form of communication. Keep it out of this server.
